A Brilliant Achievement

With reference to Mr. Syed Sadaqat Hussain’s letter of above caption where he has his delight over the successful testing of the Hatf VI (Shaheen II) surface to surface ballistic missile. When Pakistan test fired Ghouri and atom bombs a few years back, it was extremely necessary because we had to make our neighbouring country aware of our capability. Those tests were justified then. Now the situation is different. All the world is aware of our capabilities so in the first place any more tests be they of any missiles or anything else are not necessary at all. Secondly, we have to see how much powerful we are on account of being an atomic power, and what status we have in the world. Anytime I hear or read about our nuclear arms, it reminds me of Ata-ul-Haq Qasmi’s words. He somewhere said that Pakistan’s nuclear arms like a knife in the possession of a prostitute who keeps it with her all the time for her safety. Are these nuclear arms any good for us?

Education for All!!!

This is Chief Minister's project of "Education for All". There is a Secretary Education, a Secretary Special Education, and Secretary Higher Education. Only makes me feel we have more Secretaries than we have education in the province.

Finally...

Finally I have been able to do some work on my blog. The template and the background has been changed. I must say it is not in its final shape yet, I'll have to improve the background a bit more. But for the time being its fine as it is.

Needless Riots

The defeat in the 1971 war, we can never forget it. One feels such a shame to read it in the history books even now. But it was our enemy that made us feel denigrated then. If we have a look at what is happening today, it would make us all the more ashamed of ourselves. The so called protests against the blasphemy carried out by the European newspapers under the label of “freedom of expression” are only a harm to ourselves. These riots have done a lot to defame the country. I don’t understand why the protesting mob should destroy their own home and property. Do they realize the reason of these protests at all? It is the blasphemous caricatures that we are protesting against, so why should we burn our own buildings and vehicles of our own people? Don’t those who suffered loss in these protest have the same feelings as all the other Muslims? Peaceful protests and complete boycott of the Danish products in particular and the European products in general would have us better results than we could ever expect out of these riots.
The purpose of the protests should have been to show our love and respect for the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) and hatred for the blasphemous caricatures and show the world how united we are when it comes to religion, but alas we are doing quite the opposite. It also brings to my mind a proverb, “Nothing destroys iron like its own rust.” There would hardly be anything more to make me feel ashamed of being a Pakistani other than these protests. It is needless to say that there is a foreign hand behind these protests when those protesting are from among us.

WORDS!!!!

And when I think of words, they sometimes seem so light yet they are heavy, covering so much in so little. And then I think of words that fall so heavy on your ears but carry nothing within. And then I see the people, how they like to use the words that fall heavy and how they ignore the words light as feathers, and it makes me wonder what carries more weight!
