THE news is that Pakistan Airlines, which has
gone from bad to worse, may be sold to a global
company soon. PIA has some
17000 employees against a total of only 36 aircrafts and out of which 10 are
grounded as they await some spare parts to arrive. Matter of shame if those who
brought home this plight to PIA may still go unquestioned and I believe some
may even be the art of the post privatization administration, we know how
things work in this country. However, the idea of selling PIA’s core business
may not be welcomed in the assemblies and the opposition parties may give the
government a tough time. With the PIA sold, perhaps we shall move on to the
Railways and WAPDA, other failed organizations.
