THIS country is a heaven for the negligent. You may do anything, rarely would you be questioned. The whole matter would soon be sent into the oblivion. The recent crash of the PIA aircraft is one such example. Accidents like this have been happening in the past. The authorities conduct some routine investigations but hardly anything positive is gained out of it. The culprits are let go. Not to forget the earthquake incident when the whole plaza was razed to the ground in Islamabad. Did anyone hear or read that the contractor of the building was arrested? No, the government has more important matters to take care of no matter how many innocent die in an incident.

PIA Crash
IT was heart-rending to know about the PIA Fokker crash near Multan airport. This is not the first time that PIA’s Fokker crashed; rather it was the third time when a PIA Fokker crashed killing everyone on-board. The question remains, why PIA hasn’t grounded the old aircrafts like Fokker driven by old and unreliable engines? What makes the situation even worse is that time and again PIA keeps on increasing the fares without improving their fleet or services. Why is it that the Fokkers have not been grounded even when their time has long been expired? According to the statement of a passenger who travelled on the same aircraft from Lahore to Multan on the same day, the aircraft had some problems with it and its air conditioner had stopped functioning. Clarification by the PIA authorities on this issue is a lame excuse. They didn’t bother to check the aircraft completely and only after an interval of one hour it was heading back to Lahore, which resulted in massacre. It was not just the death of 45 passengers; it was the death of 45 minds that robbed the nation of its assets. It is requested that the negligent be brought to justice.

On Medicine
Anyone ever wondered why the prices of medicines are so high here in Pakistan? The reason is quite simple. The pharmacutical companies are mostly multinational, they do advertisements of their medicines and quite astonishingly they present costly items like refrigrators, airconditioners and even cars to the doctors so they help them in the marketing of the company and the medicine. The consequence is the extremely huge price of the medicine out of reach of the poor man. Further it results in the establishment companies that produce replica medicines of quite lower quality, which instead of curing the ailing person further adds to his misery. But the question is; WHO IS TO BE BLAMED?

There is no law..
Way back in time when the progressed world of today was setting off on it's journey toward development, they decided to take concrete steps for regulating discipline in the society, for discipline is the basic prerequisite toward better future. Law and order is of primary imprtance in all respects, in its absence the world would be in topsy-turvy. When the West was on the verge of making progress, they decided to formulate laws in a way so the people automatically adopt themselves according to the rulgulations. They noticed that a road is the only place where everyone would get at lease once in day. So they formalated laws of the road. Strict laws, so the people would adopt themselves to it and would abide by law in their general life too. It worked. This is the reason we see hundreds and thousands of cars, and all of them well disciplined.
Now we come to Pakistan. There is no law, leave the roads aside. A road is a place where you'll witness the worst kind of violation of law. People would stop in the middle of the road without caring for the traffic behind. No one stops or slows down on the yellow light, everyone would start moving on the yellow light, the result is accidents. The traffic would be worst and noisy around the hospitals and schools and cops would rarely be visible on such places, hence the traffic jam. You'll get punished when you have done no offence and you'll escape easily when the offence has actually been committed (pay them a little, of course). Costly cars wont be stopped for any violation, so if you can't get one, better stay at home or be ready to pay something to the cops. When this is the condition of law enforcement on the road, imagine the general life!
